Council Cuts Ties With MA Security

Wyndham City Council has cut ties with security contractor MA Security and will seek a new provider through a fresh tender process.

Council confirmed the decision in a statement posted to its Facebook page on 11 March, saying security services will go to tender in the coming months while interim arrangements remain in place.

The move follows the collapse of MA Services Group, the parent company of MA Security, which entered voluntary administration in December 2025.

The Melbourne-based company provided security, cleaning and maintenance services across Australia and employed thousands of staff before its collapse. Around 1,700 workers lost their jobs when administrators shut down major parts of the business.

Before entering administration, the company had been under scrutiny over millions of dollars in unpaid tax, allegations of worker exploitation and claims of sexual harassment against founder Micky Ahuja.

In its statement, council said:

“Wyndham City has cut ties with MA Security and will seek tenders for the service in the coming months.
