Aussie Disposals, a long-running Australian camping and outdoor retailer founded more than six decades ago in Melbourne, has entered voluntary administration for the second time in six years.
The outdoor and military surplus retailer was founded in 1962, and quickly became a staple of Australia’s outdoors scene.
The administration covers seven stores across Victoria, South Australia and New South Wales – as well as two warehouse facilities and a head office.
A further 10 franchised stores are not included in the administration – with operations continuing as normal.
A notice lodged with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) announced Romanis Cant director Manuel Hanna has been appointed voluntary administrator to handle the company.
Mr Hanna said he is already seeking expressions of interest from potential buyers in a bid to sell the business.
“With more than 60 years of brand recognition, an established retail footprint and a loyal customer base across the camping and sporting goods market, there are solid foundations for a new owner to reshape the business for future success,” Mr Hanna said.
Mr Hanna confirmed employee wages, superannuation and other entitlements remain up to date.
